Efrat, the capital of Gush Etzion.
Some 10,000 people live in the town of Efrat, just 10-15 minutes away from Jerusalem.
Most of Efrat’s population are religious-Zionist (modern Orthodox), with a small number of ultra-orthodox and non-observant residents.
There are more than twenty Ashkenazi, Sephardi and even Yemenite synagogues in the town, as well as several Yeshivot, and Kollelim, elementary schools, high schools, and of course a plethora of nursery schools and kindergartens.
Efrat’s school systems are considered among the best in the country. The Orot Etzion Boys school won the Education Ministry’s 2017 “Pras HaChinuch” – Excellence in Education Award.
Efrat is, without a doubt, the most ideal place to raise your children.
Efrat has two main shopping centers, and a third shopping center, in the Zayit neighborhood, is under construction.
The population includes native-born Israelis, though Efrat is well-known as a wonderful community of English-speaking immigrants who have made aliyah from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, Australia, as well as Olim from France, South America, The Netherlands and Russia.
